With the East Cost rap scene being heavily overshadowed by the club targeted, pop chart, and ringtone styled music of the South, P GUTTA is just the artist Hip Hop needs to return the art form back to its rightfull place. P GUTTA (which stands for “Pitts from the Gutta”) who’s born name is Lamar Pitts, started rapping around the age of 14. Since a child, P Gutta has possessed excellent grammar and vocabulary skills, thus making it easy to pen vivid lyrics about inner city life growing up in Maryland’s Capital.
Annapolis, a historic town which is often stereo-typed as city of boat sailors, downtown novelty shoppers and peaceful living. However that’s not the Annapolis PGUTTA was exposed to growing up. His side of town, named “Aclapolis”, because of its gun ridden, drug infested public housing projects. P Gutta first started making a name for himself in the streets by recording karaoke tapes while rapping over industry instrumentals. The streets embraced his music for his incredible mic skills, wittiness and authenticity of his lyrics.
Since then P Gutta has made a lasting impression on numerous indie labels in the Maryland area. He has made radio appearances(92Q), performed live(The New York Music Festival –Madison Square Garden) and made many album cameos(“Mullyman’s Mully Mania”, Cynature “Private Place” and S.M.U.V.’s “Grown Man”. P Gutta has also released four (4) mixtapes since 2001 that have sold extremely well and help establish a strong fan base for his music.
In 2005 P Gutta was introduced to Ron “BO” Ward, 1/3rd CEO of the production company “Nuttin But Bangas-NBB” and Cedric Benning , CEO of Byg Thyngz Ent. Their partnership with P Gutta has prepared him to take his career to the level of super stardom in the hip hop game. P Gutta’s debut LP titled “Failure’s Not An Option” is deemed a master piece and will be the sole reason why he will be a record labels dream. A force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
