Johnnie Floss

Hip Hop has a very long history in the borough of Brooklyn. From legends like BIG to Hov, then new schoolers like Red Cafe and Maino, this is clearly a city that never sleeps. One emcee who looks to continue that trend is Johnnie Floss. From arguably the most historic hip hop mecca, Johnnie Floss looks to make his predecessors proud and start a new chapter straight outta crooklyn. Poised with a new album called \’Flossin 24/7\’ Johnnie Floss looks to utilize his lyrical prowess to gain fans and wow the masses.

\"\"Johnnie Floss, It\’s been a minute since we saw you last. What have you been up to?

Just working hard man. Trying to get to the next level.

Lets talk about the album \’Flossin 24/7\’, what was your creative approach like and what can listeners expect to experience?

My approach was to be as versatile as possible. I don\’t want to bore my listeners so when they hear that I have a new song dropping I want them to say I wonder what Floss is going to come up with next

How does this album differ from a mixtape and who are some of the producers and artists you have worked with on the project?

Its different from a mixtape because most mix tapes are street oriented. Doing an album is not that limited because you can be creative and open minded as possible. As far as producers I worked with my team of course, Sev Da Producer, Bang em Beats Inc and a few others in the works. As far as artist I have Lex(from the group \”Mr Peterson\” UMA\’s best group 08) ChesZarae(female R&B artist) Fantum(Bang em Beats) and a few others.

You have always been active on the NYC showcase circuit, what can people expect to experience at a Johnnie Floss performance?

You can expect energy along with me being animated because I try to bring my words to life while I\’m on stage. I take a lot of pride in my stage performance and it shows.

You have also always been very lyrical. Do you feel that you have had to dumb down your abilities to fit in with current popular hip hop music?

Not at all because that\’s what I bring to the table. I\’m not a fan of \”dumbing\” down because I take pride in what I say and I want you to feel me for it. There\’s nothing like a song that makes you say man that dude killed it or run that back did you hear what he said.

If you could collab with any one artist right now who would it be and why?

Jay-Z because I feel he\’s one of or if not the most talented hip-hop artist out there. Also he has influenced me in a lot of ways so I think a track with both of us on it would be great because when your around the best, the best comes out of you.

Whats next on the agenda?

Continuing to work hard, keep making great music and work with the best that\’s out there no matter the genre.
