See? Another biblically illiterate man trying to quote scripture to condemn homosexuals! He thinks that Romans 1:25-28 condemns homosexuality. Is that what Paul was really talking about?

You ever heard some cat in the hood say, “Yo man, that’s a bad ride you have!”? Would you agree that he’s telling someone that he thinks their car is nice to look at… a great automobile, even though he used “BAD” to connotate “GOOD.” This is the language of the streets, which most of us understand in proper context. But what if some foreigner heard this same thing. He would probably walk away wondering why a person thought this was a “BAD” (not good) car.

This same thinking applies to the Bible and how it is mis/understood. Trick Trick quoted Romans 1 where Paul supposedly is condemning the “gay Lifestyle.” But is that what he was really condemning? Hell naw! He was condemning the religious practices of those we call “pagans” and warning the newly converted Christians to steer clear of their religious practices, which entailed sexual orgies to their god. That is the PROPER and CORRECT context in which Romans 1 should be read! In this case, Trick Trick (and modern-day Christians) are the FOREIGNERS, listening to a 2,000 year old conversation by Paul and walking away with an understanding which Paul HAD NOT intended! So, that “Bad” ride really ain’t so “Bad” after all! Smell me?

@Shelz… thanks for the link to Trick Trick. He really thinks that gay rappers are just Internet thuggin’. Who went on the Internet first? He did! And he’s still running off at the mouth on the radio, while he’s daring a gay rapper to come see him. He’s really feelin’ himself invincible! Anybody can get gotten! Slow yo’ roll bruh!

Quite amazing that Trick Trick claims to “go by the Bible,” but is filled with so much hate and nastiness! I’m just happy that he heard our voices.

Yes, the scientific debate on homosexuality is still out for the juries decision. That’s why I wrote, “…more and more, the scientific evidence is confirming that homosexuality is not a choice, but rather an innate biological sexual response and attraction to the same sex.”

I just personally have never believed that gays “choose” their sexuality. To believe that means that straights “chose not” to be gay or that straights “chose” to be hetero. And personally, like I wrote, it was just natural for me to like girls, so why wouldn’t it be natural for another person to like some one of the same sex? I’m just saying… Can’t we entertain that possiblity? Is it that fucking far-fetched? I think not!

I don’t have a problem with anyone sharing “their truth” so long as that “truth” is grounded in something beyond Sunday school! And the rhetoric coming out of the hip-hop community regarding homosexuality is just that– some shit from church/Sunday school!

When the earth was thought to be flat, that was the prevalent thinking until…

I’m arguing likewise… that homosexuality, from a biblical standpoint was written, contrived by men with ulterior motives and I believe that if anyone took the time to RESEARCH the history of Bible composition, Old Testament literature (as I’ve done for many years!), this fact will hit them squarely in the face. Even the MYTH of Adam’s rib being given to Eve to make “woman” falls apart under the magnifying glass of critical scholarship! The story was created to further subjugate women!

Fam if the shoe was on other foot, and Trick Trick was white, and was spewing that garbage, I would say he’s going to hell all the same. At least I’m consistent…. I agree with Shelz. It’s apathy. Whether it’s the homeless man on the street, the dude shot down the street etc. We aren’t affected until it hits our backyard. And even then we still may not care. (See Katrina)
