“Yo! Yo! This ya boy Dick Dick, the realest white rapper on da planet! Fuck Eminem! Fuck Beastie Boys! Fuck Vanilla Ice! Fuck Third Bass! Fuck Bubba Sparxxx! And fuck that nerdy-ass Asher Roth! I rep this shyt for real white people! I’m the realest! Yeah, I say ‘nigger’ on my album! What you gonna do about it? I’m the first white rapper to say NIGGER in my raps and I don’t give a fuck what niggers think about it! I’m just keepin’ it real, so stop with all the protests! This is hip-hop!
I’m-a go on the record right now with this. Niggers are probably not gonna like this album… I don’t want your nigger money any goddamn way! Carry that shit somewhere else. It’s just that every time that you turn on the TV, that nigger shit is on …and they act like its fucking okay. The world is changing for the worst when shit like that happens. And I address that issue. I address it hard as hell…. ‘Either way he’s a nigger/Ain’t no other way to say/He’s a fucking nigger so I’m lettin’ off my AK/Bust ‘em in his forehead/He ain’t worth lettin’ live/A nigger and nigger shouldn’t raise another white man’s kids!’
These fuckin’ niggers! I wanna send a scud missile right through B.E.T. and Tom Joyner’s cruise ship! America’s going to hell in a hand basket! A black President—Fuck outta here!”
Just imagine the outcry from black folk! Imagine the outcry from hip-hop! Imagine the heat Allhiphop.com would take for giving light to a racist white rapper’s views! Take “faggot” out of Trick Trick’s statement and replace it with “nigger” and you have a powder keg of black rage! All-of-a sudden every black leader and thinker will get air time to denounce Dick Dick’s racist remarks! Cornel West, Michael Eric Dyson, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Louis Farrakhan— all of them would’ve shouted down a racist white rapper and urged a boycott of his record label! Please believe that!
But a homophobic mofo can say anything and, for the most part, black America, hip-hop America stands mute (silent)! Hypocrisy!
How many mainstream rappers/musicians came to the defense of the Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender (LGBT) community? Kanye West is my dude, one of the few rappers to publicly condemn homophobia, but I haven’t read where he condemned Trick Trick’s homophobia! (Fighting the paps is his hew priority!) Common has rapped about loving those whose sexual orientation is different, but as of this writing the only thing I read about him is him giving his album away for a buck and staying celibate until marriage! I love Mary J. Blige’s dirty drawhs (as she has spoken out publicly against homophobia and even posed for the cover of The Advocate, a leading gay magazine in the country), but I haven’t read a statement of condemnation from her as of this writing!
I’m just saying… (Every rapper reads Allhiphop.com, so I know they read about Trick Trick!)
In a feeble attempt by Allhiphop.com to put this homophobic debate in hip-hop context, they ran a milquetoast editorial by someone named Bill Starlin, in which he wrote:
…as we begin to become a more heterogeneous society with racial and gender paradigms shifting, I think it’s important to properly frame the Hip-Hop versus Homosexuality debate in its proper context. They are not diametrically opposed. There is an increasing number of homosexual and lesbian emcees that embrace the Hip-Hop aesthetic. … Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Sometimes that opinion is uninformed. Most hateful opinions are born of ignorance and mistrust and general lack of experience. Many rappers express sentiment similar to Trick Trick. Many others hide what they are for that reason. It runs counter to our general understanding of what a man is, mistaken or not. There are gay rappers, rapping about regular things.
(*Yawn*) They talk about “keepin’ it real,” but they wouldn’t run my blog over there! Instead, let’s bring in some cultural critic and gloss over the pain of our LGBT brothers and sisters (many of whom are hardcore hip-hop heads!)—let’s try and be “fair and balanced” by letting Billy use words like “paradigm shift,” “diametrically opposed,” “familial forced disintegration,” and “social emasculation”—a bunch of highbrow hyperbole and literary masturbation! Nigga what?
Heads don’t understand that shyt! The editorial never definitively stated that homophobia is wrong! The editorial never definitively called out Trick Trick for his grotesque imagery! What was the point? Hip-hop critics have gone soft! Hip-hop critics have got a fag mentality when confronted with homophobia!
Reading some of the comments at Allhiphop.com only reinforces the fact that religion and the Bible are like nuclear weapons in the wrong hands! Gay people be gettin’ straight ethered with these tools! Hip-hop heads used the old “I’m not racist! Some of my best friends are black” argument—“I’m not a homophobe! Some of my relatives are gay!” They claim to love their gay cousin, only to falsely condemn him to hell, based on some mythological archaic biblical understanding, which they can neither cogently articulate or cite concrete evidence to support their mythology. God, devil, heaven, hell—a bunch of intangible objects, which we have made tangible!
These hypocritical Internet gangsters condemn homosexuality out of one side of their mouth, only to turn off their computer and indulge in a little fornication with the neighborhood trick-trick (pun intended)! Very few of them have studied Old Testament literature or the history of religion! All that they believe to be the truth stems from a few church services over at Mt. Moriah with the Good Reverend Dr. Creflo Dollar! A bunch of non-freethinking wannabe theologians and shrinks that think they know the deally concerning homosexuality!
Straight folk! Remember the DAY you realized you were HETEROSEXUAL—the day you said to yourself, “Am I attracted to the opposite sex?” Remember the day you “chose” your heterosexuality? You don’t? Well I don’t either! As a straight man, I don’t remember that “definitive,” “earth-shattering,” “revelatory” day in junior high school where I realized I liked girls. It just sort of was. I didn’t have to make a conscious decision to be attracted to the opposite sex. I just was! There was no epiphany or revelation one day that allowed me to be attracted to girls! I just was! So why do many heterosexuals try to make the argument that homosexuality is a “chosen” lifestyle? Why can’t we give the gay person the benefit of the doubt that they were actually BORN attracted to the same sex, just as a straight person was BORN attracted to the opposite sex? Why can’t we accept that homosexuality is a part of the human condition—that there is absolutely nothing wrong with same-sex attraction—that homosexuality is not an aberration to human sexuality—a deviation from the norm?
It is a BELIEF that gays and lesbians CHOOSE to be homosexual. It-is-what-it-is! A BELIEF! “BELIEF” is not a concrete, proven, undeniable, uncontested, knowable, tangible fact! BELIEF is theory, hypothesis, opinion, and extrapolation—understanding about that which we have found no concrete, tangible evidence for its existence in the physical realm like “god.” BELIEF is not COGNITION—KNOWING! You don’t know for a fact that homosexuals “choose” their sexual preference and more and more, the scientific evidence is confirming that homosexuality is not a choice, but rather an innate biological sexual response and attraction to the same sex. Sexuality is not black and white! There are gray/gay areas. There are many “deviations/anomalies/aberrations” (if you will) in human sexuality. Homosexuality is not a deviation!
How do you explain the little boy who loves dolls and women’s clothes more than toy trucks and wearing his daddy’s shoes? How do you explain the little girl who would rather wear jeans than a dress and roughhouse it with the boys instead of dressing up like mama in high-heels and make-up? You’ve seen children that you knew were going to be gay or lesbian and it had nothing to do with nothing! THEY WERE BORN THAT WAY! But in our simplistic understanding of human sexuality, in an attempt to rationalize homosexuality, we say these people are born crazy for having aberrant thoughts about who they are. Yeah, that’s it! That fits neatly into our heterosexual lunch box!
Hip-hop cosigns the ignorance of the masses when those that could lend their voice to the debate (and err on the side of tolerance) stand on the sidelines and allows one group of people to be ostracized in the name of religion and what some believe is normal and abnormal.
Hip-hop better pray that a “Dick Dick” (a white racist rapper who uses the N-Word freely) doesn’t come on the scene! Maybe that’s what it will take to wake hip-hop up out of its homophobic stupor! Until then…
Hip-Hop! Where you at? Hip-hop—my beloved hip-hop—you’z a spineless Son of a Bitch!

well hon…
i really dont think this is a case of hip hop being spineless. im sure trick trick is rattling every cage he can because he has a release in the queue. most folks see it as a publicity stunt and have turned a deaf ear to his bullshit. in general its not fear. its apathy. and to be honest wil you, i think apathy is worse because fear still suggests a concern is present. thats why what you do is so important because even tho there may be 50 million people listening to you; right now ur talking to an empty room.
“empty room”…for sure!
the truth hurts my S.A. — and hate is hate anyway you cut it – I just don’t understand that those that have been hated on the most in the past can do the same thing to “the other” — you are a Prophet — and it may take a thousand years b4 you are truly understood!

wow…. reading it was one thing. hearing it is something else.
Khalil,
Fam if the shoe was on other foot, and Trick Trick was white, and was spewing that garbage, I would say he’s going to hell all the same. At least I’m consistent…. I agree with Shelz. It’s apathy. Whether it’s the homeless man on the street, the dude shot down the street etc. We aren’t affected until it hits our backyard. And even then we still may not care. (See Katrina)
Grace and Peace,
A-One
Additionaly while we’re on belief. You decry the fact the bible thumpers and homophobes say that those of the LGBT community are wrong because of their beliefs. I.e. “their truth.” But isn’t this the whole point of your blog? To shed “your truth” on the issue? I hear you on the scientific research. Point taken. But to counter that, isn’t some of that research hotly contested? Isn’t there still a split in the scientific community on whether or not homo or hetero is determined at birth? Finally, do you believe that there is a moral standard that all mankind must adhere to? Or are you into postmodern thought? At the end of the day, we can all agree on this: Cogito Ergo Sum. (I think, therefore I am.) I’m on my Descartes! I digress.
Grace and Peace,
A-One
@A-One… I agree with Shelz too! Apathy is a mutha! But I’m still sticking to “hip-hop is a spineless S.O.B.!” LOL!
Yes, the scientific debate on homosexuality is still out for the juries decision. That’s why I wrote, “…more and more, the scientific evidence is confirming that homosexuality is not a choice, but rather an innate biological sexual response and attraction to the same sex.”
I just personally have never believed that gays “choose” their sexuality. To believe that means that straights “chose not” to be gay or that straights “chose” to be hetero. And personally, like I wrote, it was just natural for me to like girls, so why wouldn’t it be natural for another person to like some one of the same sex? I’m just saying… Can’t we entertain that possiblity? Is it that fucking far-fetched? I think not!
I don’t have a problem with anyone sharing “their truth” so long as that “truth” is grounded in something beyond Sunday school! And the rhetoric coming out of the hip-hop community regarding homosexuality is just that– some shit from church/Sunday school!
When the earth was thought to be flat, that was the prevalent thinking until…
I’m arguing likewise… that homosexuality, from a biblical standpoint was written, contrived by men with ulterior motives and I believe that if anyone took the time to RESEARCH the history of Bible composition, Old Testament literature (as I’ve done for many years!), this fact will hit them squarely in the face. Even the MYTH of Adam’s rib being given to Eve to make “woman” falls apart under the magnifying glass of critical scholarship! The story was created to further subjugate women!
Go on and get your Descartes on! Interesting fellow!
So here’s Trick Trick’s official reply to me on my Myspace page… “DIE FAGGOT !!! ROMANS CHAPTER 1 VERSES 25 THRU 28″. lol!
See? Another biblically illiterate man trying to quote scripture to condemn homosexuals! He thinks that Romans 1:25-28 condemns homosexuality. Is that what Paul was really talking about?
You ever heard some cat in the hood say, “Yo man, that’s a bad ride you have!”? Would you agree that he’s telling someone that he thinks their car is nice to look at… a great automobile, even though he used “BAD” to connotate “GOOD.” This is the language of the streets, which most of us understand in proper context. But what if some foreigner heard this same thing. He would probably walk away wondering why a person thought this was a “BAD” (not good) car.
This same thinking applies to the Bible and how it is mis/understood. Trick Trick quoted Romans 1 where Paul supposedly is condemning the “gay Lifestyle.” But is that what he was really condemning? Hell naw! He was condemning the religious practices of those we call “pagans” and warning the newly converted Christians to steer clear of their religious practices, which entailed sexual orgies to their god. That is the PROPER and CORRECT context in which Romans 1 should be read! In this case, Trick Trick (and modern-day Christians) are the FOREIGNERS, listening to a 2,000 year old conversation by Paul and walking away with an understanding which Paul HAD NOT intended! So, that “Bad” ride really ain’t so “Bad” after all! Smell me?
@Shelz… thanks for the link to Trick Trick. He really thinks that gay rappers are just Internet thuggin’. Who went on the Internet first? He did! And he’s still running off at the mouth on the radio, while he’s daring a gay rapper to come see him. He’s really feelin’ himself invincible! Anybody can get gotten! Slow yo’ roll bruh!
His shit-talking made Queen Pen kinda shy about voicing her opinion. Clearly, she was shook by Trick Trick!
Quite amazing that Trick Trick claims to “go by the Bible,” but is filled with so much hate and nastiness! I’m just happy that he heard our voices.
Paul WAS NOT condeming HOMOSEXUALITY! Paul was condemning pagan RELIGIOUS PRACTICES!!!!!!! Now go study that ish!!
Trick Trick claims he’s not up for two women making love or kissing in his interview. What a crock of shit! The hip-hop industry sells rap song with videos. Many of these videos show women having some sort of simulated foreplay/sex to sell the rapper’s record. They say a threesome is supposed to be the all-American male fantasy. …and Trick Trick ain’t down with women getting it on? I don’t know any man who wouldn’t indulge in a threesome! If my wife came home tonight and announced that she wanted to have a threesome with one of her sexy friends, I’d have a hard-on the minute the doorbell rang! lol!
To be fair and balanced… I do know several theologians who hold to the view similar to yours on homosexuality and Romans. Don’t know if you’ve ever seen the documentary they did on Fred Phelps… (sick cat) but a guy from St. Paul school of theology here in KC talks about it in the doc.
