Eminem: Definition of a *Fag!

There’s no denying Eminem’s greatness within the rap musical genre. He’s been labeled the greatest rapper by hip-hop purists. His rap acumen is impeccable! But Eminem aka Slim Shady has been pulling “bitch moves” for a minute. Eminem is on some fag shit! Not “fag,” as in a homophobic slur, but rather fag, as in hip-hop’s definition of a weak-minded, sorry-ass, spineless person. Why do I say that? Because he attacks people who are no match for his lyrical onslaught.

(Eminem in a homoerotic pose)

In his most recent bully-bitch-move he attacks Lady GaGa and Justin Bieber rapping “Tell Lady GaGa she can quit her job at the post office. She’s still a [mail] male lady” while muttering some other incoherent gibberish about the Beeb...

The Illuminati’s Recruiting? Sign Me Up!

I’m for the abolishment of all (organized) religions! I’m all for gay marriage! In a utopian society I’d be fine with no president and no borders—a kind of heaven-on-earth. These are the things that the Illuminati supposedly want. If I told you I was already a member of the Illuminati I’d have to kill you, so, for the sake of this blog, I’m not a member and I’m only writing to be flippant educate. Let’s get it!

I’ve been looking for the Illuminati headquarters for a long time! In my travels I’ve been part of several organizations, which could’ve pointed me in the Illuminati direction. I’ve “crossed the burning sands” of fraternal brotherhood. I’ve met those of “this way” and stood shoulder to shoulder in knowledge with those that stand “Perpendicular to the Square...

July 9, 2011

I even got into it wit these stupid niggas trying to assassinate my character talkin about I’m snitching to the guards and that I’m getting special treatment. Ja Rule Letter From Prison…Inside Rule – Letter 1

July 11, 20011

Today I can truly say I’ve been through it all. A young kid comes in today they put him in the 18 cell right next to mine he looked kinda depressed coming in but nothing out of the ordinary a few hours go past and all of a sudden I hear someone choking he’s trying to kill his self. We all heard it everyone runs to their cell doors and start kicking, banging, calling the CO’s. Now I’ve seen a person get shot and I’ve even seen someone die from a drug overdose but this was different this was suicide. It was like I can hear the life leaving his body the CO’s rush in the cell they saved him. I didn’t even think some shit like this was possible in these cells...

Tupac Didn’t Know Squat About Real “Thug Life!”

I know you think you know what a thug is—a goon, a street-certified gangster with a nice knuckle-game and a penchant for criminality, but that ain’t the origins of thuggin’. I don’t care if you’re Debo, Monster Cody, Tookie Williams, Kimbo Slice or Suge Knight! They are/were no thugs! A lot of you niggas locked down think you’re a thug. Some of these rappers think they’re thugs. Trick Daddy used to rap, “I’m a thug.” Rappers Bone Thugs & Harmony perpetuated thuggery, Papoose labels his movement “Thugacation” and Tupac tatted himself up with “Thug life...

People Would Rather Think; Than Actually Do…

When I first heard the term “People would rather think their doing something; Than actually doing something” was from a Business Man that use to promote Hip Hop shows frequently here in the New York area. He told me “Sparks, look at this venue filled with artist waiting to rock the MIC; it’s packed from wall to wall weekly”. As he sipped on his drink in the club he continued to brag in between laughs about the manner in which he gets these artist to perform “Listen, I make them sell 30 Tickets at $10 a piece to perform; and I have 20 artist performing tonight, you do the math”...

Bone Intell: A Gay Rapper You Can Listen to!

Would you listen to a gay rapper’s CD? For many straight heads the answer is an emphatic “Hell no!” Our close-mindedness and our homophobia won’t let us think outside the box and see what a gay rapper brings to the hip-hop table. We think we will hear a lot of “let me suck your dick and fuck you in the ass” lyricism, and while it is true that some gay rappers travel that route, it is not what all gay rappers find topical—any more than straight rappers rapping about eating pussy and fucking bitches all day. There is more that goes on in a rapper’s life, whether he be straight or gay than rapping about sex.

But for some strange reason, straight rappers think that’s all a gay rapper can rap about is gay sex! Recently, I was watching an interview on VladTv...

White Niggers: V-Nasty & Dem!

Let’s not beat around the fucking bush obfuscate! Let’s not ride hyperbole’s jockstrap! Let’s steer clear of oratorical masturbation! Let’s keep it real! The average black dude will look at a white dude side-eyed if that white dude is trying to be cool and says, “What up, my nigga?” The brotha’s expression will say, “Really?”—as in SMFH (shaking my fucking head). The average nigga black dude will knock a white dude out for calling him a nigger! We can argue ad nauseam about the use of the word nigga. Some say it’s a “term of endearment.” Others say it should be wiped from our vocabulary, because it represents that “Peculiar Institution” (slavery) and the wretchedness of America’s founding. Argue on!

One thing, we as hip-hop heads can all agree on is that ...

If Only Twitter Could Sell Albums…

Artists are constantly being told to tweet. And tweet. And tweet… just to stay connected with their fans and stay relevant. But is that the best advice, especially when it comes to sales? The answer is not for every artist, especially for those courting a less-mainstream, music-focused crowd. Even worse, it could be stealing valuable time away from songwriting, touring, collaborating, and other pursuits that form deeper audience connections.

To prove the point, we took a look at the best-selling albums of the year so far, as counted by Nielsen Soundscan. Then, we mapped those to the Twitter rankings of the recording artists themselves, as tracked by BigChampagne.

The results were interesting...
