4-0

\"30dolla2\"1. First of all, let the people know who you are and where you\’re from.

Hey what up, its 4-0. You gon know who I am, but anyway I’m from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A revolutionist. Hip hop artist.

2. Milwaukee is not a place that\’s known for hip hop. What would you say is the Milwaukee sound?

I am Milwaukee’s sound. And that’s not coming off as ignorant by any means. It’s sayin that here in Milwaukee there are a lot of wanna be south artists and wanna be super hood rappers. I have developed my own sound from first of all moving all the time. I was bounced all around and put in different environments. And me coming from Milwaukee I want my city to have a good rep. So that’s why I say “I am the Sound of Milwaukee.”

3. How did you get into hip hop?

I got into hip hop when I feel in love wit music at a young age. Started off wit hip hop/ r&b music. And also Rock and different kinds of music. And I write poetry a lot. Really that’s how it started. Then I developed a style and flow and the rest is up to come.

4. You\’ve opened for quite a few major label artists. Can you list a few and tell us how you managed to accomplish that?

Yeah (smiles) I have opened up for T.I., Keshia Cole, Bone Thugs, Common, Snoop Dogg and many more. The way I did that is I got in real good with the owner of one of the places the big acts would come. And the owner was feeling my music really hard. So he gave me a discounted price on opening up and always main stage. So when ever big acts came in. I was the first one called.

5. If you could work with any 3 producers, who would they be?

I would work with Kanye west. I like his style of beats and music. Also with Timbo. I think we could click good together and the last would be Drumma boy, I like the energy his beats give.

6. What\’s your take on the current state of hip hop?

Mannn… Um my take on it that its going a beautiful direction. That freedom that artists have is wonderful. From Kanye doing a singing record, to lil wayne doin rock. That’s a big step. But I do think that the album sales have been very much effected that people need to get out and the album. Also I think the industry is too focused on to what THEY think is a hit. So they get these guys with no talent that just have a catchy hook and have one hit and then they’re gone. Just a way for a label to make a quick buck.

7. What are you bringing to the table that we haven\’t seen before?

Eh, everything…….follow me and you’ll see….

8. Is there anything that you\’re working on that we should watch out for?

Yeah I’m working on my upcoming mix-tape called “No Where”. Be on the lookout for that to drop next month (June 2009) and working with people on promotion and getting out there so be on the look out.
